New Textures Mostly Done

New Base

As promised, here is an update on the status of the new textures to replace the ones that I wasn't supposed to be using. As you can see in the attached image, the mech and base textures have been significantly reworked, even beyond just the required replacement of the base texture. The mech's normal map is much simpler now because I realized that you rarely get close enough to see the fine details anyway, and I was never entirely happy with the old normal maps. The other major change was that the mech is now weathered. There is dirt and grime and wear on the edges of panels. Continue reading »

Server Compromised

Due to some unfortunate timing on the discovery of a security flaw in the version of Exim running on this server, it was compromised by what appears to have been a script kiddie. User Registration Problems

It appears that the ReCAPTCHA plugin that I was using to verify user registrations has been broken for some time now. I'm not sure exactly how long, but looking at my backups of the site pre-Lenny upgrade it doesn't seem that it was properly installed even there. I'm not sure how this happened, but it should be fixed now (and based on the spammer who registered this morning, I feel fairly confident saying that registration is working again. ;-). My apologies if this prevented anyone from registering.
